Both use materials and methods to analyze and picture the world around us, through researching, observing, measuring, experimenting, and imagining! This course will take a look at numerous art and science collaborations with special emphasis on visualization, moving image and sound.

What's kind of interesting, and obvious, is that despite each map being similar in size and shape, each one reflects a different layer of detail. Some include the great lakes, some include more accurate representations of coastlines. The combination of these different layers of detail develop the cartographic impulse. The desire to show as much as possible but in a simple and understandable manner. Here we have the United States built up upon one another forming an impressive display of how the group views america, all with the same idea in mind but expressing it differently.
